Dating back to the 17th century, this is one of the oldest cemeteries in Williamsburg, housing everyone from early settlers to prominent figures and Revolutionary War soldiers. It’s also filled with unmarked graves, leaving unsettled spirits roaming the grounds.

The Governor's Palace in Williamsburg at night

The Governor’s Palace

The Governor’s Palace has been the site of several tragic events, including the fire of 1781 during the American Revolution. Combined with the perils of war, it’s no wonder that the building is teeming with ghostly apparitions and unexplained activity.

Market Square in Williamsburg at night

Market Square and Magazine

Perhaps one of the darkest locations in Williamsburg, Market Square was once the site of public executions and punishments. The energy that remains is heavy, and it’s considered one of the most haunted locations in Williamsburg.

What is the Dead of Night Ghost Hunt About?

Colonial Ghosts proudly presents the only organized ghost hunts with equipment in Williamsburg! This spine-chilling ghost hunt takes you to seven spooky locations, each with a terrifying backstory and the ghosts born of the horrific events you’ll hear about.

Williamsburg has a rich history, filled with tales of war, tragedy, and death. From its inception, this colonial town has been cursed, forming on a sacred burial ground and angering those whose land was being infringed upon. The future of Williamsburg’s development didn’t get any less brutal as time went on.

The Revolutionary War and Civil War would wreak havoc on the town, claiming the lives of thousands and leaving behind death and destruction. And we can’t leave out the Public Gaol, where executions and torture were served daily.

Death knew no bounds in this dark era, and the spirits of this disturbing time remain, making themselves known to those who cross their paths. Tonight, hear their tragic tales from their perspective as you explore the places where they met their untimely ends with equipment designed to communicate with these sorrowful souls.
